Mille Lacs County Recorder: Michele McPherson
The Recorder's Office is responsible for the legal records of all the real estate in Mille Lacs County. Permanent records of deeds, mortgages, and other various real estate records are recorded/filed in this office. The County Recorder, by Statute, is also the Registrar of Titles under the Torrens (Registered Land) System. The Registrar is an arm of the District Court. The Examiner of Titles (an Attorney) is appointed by the Judge of District Court, and is the legal advisor of the Registrar of Titles.
There are many County offices, as well as attorneys, financial institutions, realtors, title companies, historians, genealogists, etc., that use the records of the Recorder's Office.
