The following staff is responsible for administering federal, state, and local regulations relating to land use and environmental issues. 

Michele McPherson, Land Services Director

Employed since September 2005, Ms. McPherson has a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.  Her career in Planning has taken her from Fridley to South St. Paul to Elk River, Minnesota.  Her responsibilities include overseeing the Zoning Department staff, and working with the County Board in implementing policies and regulations relating to land use and environmental issues.  She can be reached by e-mail at michele.mcpherson@co.mille-lacs.mn.us.

Cade Steffenson, Assistant Administrator

Employed since November 2003, Mr. Steffenson has a Bachelor of Science degree and has completed the coursework for a Master’s in Natural Resources.  A county resident for over 15 years, he is a Certified Septic Inspector and trained Wetland Delineator.  He worked briefly for the Lake of the Woods Soil and Water Conservation District.  His responsibilities include administration of the Wetland Conservation Act and county land use regulations, including processing requests for the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustments.  He can be reached by e-mail at cade.steffenson@co.mille-lacs.mn.us.

Traci Holm, Zoning Technician

Employed by the County since 1992, with a two-year interruption, Ms. Holm is a certified designer, inspector, and installer for Individual Sewage Treatment Systems.  Ms. Holm has a soil PHD.  She is responsible for septic design review and system inspections, Development Code enforcement, and complaint investigation.  She can be reached by e-mail at traci.holm@co.mille-lacs.mn.us.

Corrine (Corky) Webb, Zoning Technician

Robert Heinrich, Administrative Assistant

Employed with the County since 2001, with a one-year interruption in 2003, Mr. Heinrich has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, and was a computer programmer for 15 years prior to his county work.  His responsibilities include front desk customer service, balancing the Department’s books weekly and monthly, ordering, and records retention.  He can be reached by e-mail at robert.heinrich@co.mille-lacs.mn.us.
