Notice of New Voting Equipment

NOTICE OF NEW EQUIPMENT

To the Clerks and voters of (All) Townships and Cities in the County of Mille Lacs, State of Minnesota:

The State of Minnesota provided counties an opportunity to receive a Voting Equipment Grant (VEGA‐2)

to assist counties in upgrading their current election equipment. Mille Lacs County, using the VEGA‐2

Grant, has purchased twelve (12) DS200 precinct scanner and tabulators to replace the legacy m100

ballot counter machines in the following precincts:*

  • Bogus Brook Township 
  • Borgholm Township
  • East Side Township 
  • Greenbush Township
  • Kathio Township 
  • Milaca City
  • Milaca Township
  • Milo Township
  • Princeton City 
  • Princeton Township

*Two DS200 precinct scanner and tabulators will remain at the County and will not be deployed for the

upcoming August 11, 2020 Primary or November 3, 2020 General Election

A demonstration of the new DS200 will be available at the Mille Lacs County Auditor’s office beginning

on June 26, 2020. Please contact the Mille Lacs County Auditor’s office by telephone at 320‐983‐8310 or

by email at elections@millelacs.mn.gov if you are interested in a demonstration or if you would like

additional information.


A Public Accuracy Test of the voting equipment will be conducted at 1:00pm on August 5, 2020 at the

Mille Lacs County Historic Courthouse. Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the

accuracy testing.
