As a part of Executive Order 20-56, more Minnesota businesses can reopen starting Monday, May 18th. Businesses that can reopen are required by the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED) to complete a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. Businesses do not need to submit their completed COVID-19 Preparedness Plan to DEED but are required to post the plan within the workplace and review their plan with employees prior to reopening.
DEED is providing businesses with a template that businesses may use to develop their plan. Businesses are not required to use the state’s template, but any COVID-19 Preparedness Plan must follow CDC, MDH, and OSHA guidelines. DEED has also provided a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan checklist for businesses to review. Businesses are encouraged to visit https://mn.gov/deed/newscenter/covid/safework/business/ to access additional resources and guidance on reopening safely.
